Football Party Tailgate Collaboration
Football Party Tailgate Collaboration
A few months ago, I was asked to collaborate on a very special birthday party from Jennifer Carver of Banner Events. Jennifers dad was turning 60 and she and her sister, Cami, wanted to create a spectacular celebration and surprise their dad with a BYU themed football party. And what a surprise it was!!
With the help of so many talented ladies in the party business, Jennifer was able to make a memorable day for her entire family. This one is full of tailgating ideas and football party fabulous-ness so get ready for some fun!
Inspired by Amandas Football party table, Jennifer "took the ball and ran with it" creating a room full of fantastic football-themed tables. Using Amandas FOOTBALL PARTY PRINTABLES COLLECTION, which is customizable to any team and team colors, was a terrific starting place for all things BYU her dads college alma mater.

Jennifer says, "The highlight of the event was definitely the dessert table. Decorated to look like a football field, with astro turf used as the table covering, the dessert table was the focal point of the party design. Striped pennant flags were hung using denim twine from The Twinery.
PVC pipe was cut, assembled and painted to look like field goal posts and held letters which spelled out the honorees name: DALE. Bleachers were fashioned out of foam core board to house delicious quarterback cupcakes from Cupcake Chic with custom fondant toppers by Two Sugar Babies.
JP Creatibles outdid herself with the most stunning football cookies I have ever laid eyes on! Footballs, custom BYU jersey and BYU logo cookies with the most detailed design work I have ever seen, were the talk of the party! And football themed Cornerback cookies were iced and topped with gorgeous fondant cookie toppers crafted by Edible Details.
Beautifully hand dipped and decorated play action pretzel rods were prepared by Pretzels Pleaze. Notice the cute sugar footballs adorning the pretzels! No detail was spared! There where wideout whoopee pies, blocker brownies, touchdown treats in apothecary jars, maple bar cougar paws, goal time cake pops (lovingly created by Johanna Dellino of Pop.O.Licious Cake Pops), and more!"

With the help of Anders Ruff, Jennifer was able to design
the perfect invitation to set the stage for the big event.

Jennifer gives us a few more details.... "Adorable football boxes from Nashville Wraps helped house chips on the buffet table and fun party favors on the kids table. Guests sat down to tables outfitted to look like a piece of the football field itself. Astro turf was cut to fit round tables. White ribbon and die cut numbers were glued on to look like yard lines and markers. Centerpieces were made from coordinating college logo balloons, gift bags, pom poms, footballs and coordinating candy.

A delicious 3-layer cake was displayed on its own table, topped with an amazing fondant cake topper by Two Sugar Babies. Strawberries were dipped in chocolate and decorated to look like their pigskin counterparts.

Guests were given a take home favor bag from Nashville Wraps adorned with BYU-themed printables from Amandas Parties To Go.
Each place setting on Jennifers guest tables was outfitted with drink flags, water bottle wraps and napkin wraps from the football collection in BYUs team colors.
Jennifer says, "I love it when professionals collaborate to make an event even more amazing!"
I agree, Jennifer. Fabulous job and thanks so much for sharing with all of us!

Football Party Customer Party
Football Party Customer Party
I have a sweet customer party to share today with some fun ideas that you could use for your own Superbowl get-togethers. Alissa, contacted me last fall to design a Kentucky Wildcats theme using Amandas Parties To Gos FOOTBALL PARTY PRINTABLES. Her little boy, Yates, was turning one and Alissa wanted to celebrate with her favorite team colors.

Using the goal post idea from my Football Party table, Alissa made an eye-catching centerpiece for her dessert table which is a great starting point for any party. For the rest of the party food, Alissa says, "I kept if very low key! My mother-in-law made homemade hot dog chili and we had hot dogs and chili buns. I also ordered a Chik-fil-A nugget tray which is always a hit."
For activities, Alissa says, "It was freezing cold and very windy the day of the party, which was not expected. We had a football toss, giant football kick, obstacle course and bean bag toss planned for the kids. We only ended up doing the obstacle course and bean bag toss because of the weather. The kids all got little trophies from Oriental Trading Company at the end of the games."

Thank you, Alissa!
What a wonderful celebration you created for your big boys first birthday!

Football Party
Football Party

Its about that time -- FOOTBALL SEASON! What little boy doesnt just LOVE his football team? With our TEAM COLORS FOOTBALL PARTY printables, he can celebrate his next birthday in the colors of his favorite team. This printables set is super and gives a choice of
TWO TEAM COLORS to customize to your own favorite team!
Best of all, the above party table was made for UNDER $100, and YES, that includes the custom made goal post and the little boys name in letters, C-H-A-P. Cute! I hope you are inspired by the photos below.... You can find details about the party at the end of this post:

PARTY DETAILS:
- DESSERT TABLE: Astroturf from Home Depot was used as a tablecloth. A 4x4 backboard was covered in a navy twin sheet from Walmart ($5). A field goal post was created from pvc pipe from Home Depot (details to follow). Boxes were covered in a leather-like fabric to simulate football leather and then topped with a cut piece of astroturf. A wide orange/white dot ribbon from Hobby Lobby was glued on for embellishment. Foam footballs from the Dollar Tree were put on top of megaphones also from the Dollar Tree and covered in 12"x12" orange cardstock and blue/white dot ribbon.
- DESSERTS: Simple desserts made party planning easy and quick. Cupcakes were purchased from a grocery store and printable football lace cupcake wraps and cupcake toppers from the FOOTBALL PARTY PRINTABLES set were used to dress them up. Desserts included home made cocoa rice krispy treats, brownie bites (from Sams) with colored gumballs on top (from Party City), chocolate footballs made with molds from Spinning Leaf, football-shaped sugar cookie easily made with football-shaped cookie cutters and some melted chocolate frosting. And a large chocolate football was found at Big Lots.
- Individual servings of caramel corn in striped boxes rounded out the dessert table. The boxes were found at the Dollar Tree on the wedding aisle. They came with handles which were cut off with scissors and then the boxes were covered in the stripe printable papers which come with the FOOTBALL PARTY PRINTABLES. A tutorial on covering the boxes can be found here.
- FIELD GOAL POST: The star of the table is the field goal post made with pre-cut pieces of pieces found at Home Depot. Basically I just played around with the pieces in the store until it fit perfectly together and was the right scale needed for the table. I used 4 lengths of pvc, 2 elbow pieces and one piece that adjoined the vertical base piece to the horizontal bar piece. After fitting the pvc together in the field goal post shape, I secured the elbow pieces with a little hot glue.
- After assembling the goal post, I spray painted it bright yellow. For the CHAP letters of the childs name, I used chipboard letters from Hobby Lobby covered in the dot printable papers from the FOOTBALL PARTY PRINTABLES. The letters were attached to the goal post using a length of 1"x1/4" wood also painted yellow. The letters were screwed into the wood from the back of the letter. The wood piece was then tied onto the goal post with small rope hidden behind the letters. The goal post was then cemented into a Dollar Tree trash can using paper mache plaster.
- PARTY ACTIVITIES: The boys LOVED that the backyard was turned into a miniature Auburn football field, thanks to Chaps dad who used marking spray paint from Home Depot. It was the perfect set up for the football games they played throughout the party, and really, what could be easier for mom at a party? Just let the boys play football! An inflatable field goal post (found here) made the game play even more fun.
